Being an international company, we realize we have an impact not only on our local environment but also on people and places all around this little planet we call Earth. At KANSAS we pride ourselves in taking full responsibility for our actions, and though we cannot save the world on our own, it doesn’t mean we should stop trying.

A good place to start is always in your own backyard. So, at our headquarters in Odense, Denmark, we work hard to reduce waste levels and recycle everything we possibly can. We also work hard at minimizing our carbon footprint by lowering power usage in close cooperation with Bravida, a leading energy consultancy.

Improving the environment is also about improving the health and environment of those who work with and in our clothes. Many of our products are therefore certified according to the Öko-Tex 100 standard and we have made considerable progress in the process of certifying the rest.

We go a long way to make sure those who work in our supply chain do so in safe, good and decent working conditions.  All our suppliers must therefore, wherever they are located, adhere to our strict social and environmental standards.

Our Sourcing and CSR Department ensures that our suppliers obey relevant air, water and ground pollution regulations, exercise responsible waste management, and that they sign a Restricted Substance List – a part of the European Union’s REACH programme – to ensure maximum protection for both users and the environment.

The Sourcing Department is also a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, an organization that promotes better working conditions in the textile industry. Together, they make sure our suppliers do not use forced labour, child labour or engage in worker discrimination; and that workers have fair working hours and wages, a safe working environment, legally binding conditions of employment, and the freedom to join and form trade unions.

When push comes to shove, we know there is still room for improvement. But one thing is certain: we are committed to change for the better.
